Thisvi

In about 2 kms of the Old National Road from Thiva to Livadia we turn left for the Ellopia, Xironomi, Domvrena, Saranti. In the south sides of Elikonas mountain, just before the entrance to Domvrena, there is a road leading to the Karaiskakis Tower and after 7 kms in about 700m height we find the Panagia Makariotissa Monastery. It was founded in 12th century and up to today the Central Temple, the east side of the cells and an external chappel dedicated to Agia Paraskevi are saved.

	On our way to Saranti, about 1 km after Domvrena, we find the Thisvi village in which we can see to the left side the ruins of the castle (Neokastro) along with the blockhouse and to the right side just a little bit further on a barrow an preclassical era acropolis and old christian tumbs curved on rocks.
After Thisvi we find the Prodromos village and after we exit it we can see the ruins of Horsies castle and findings of preclassical era. In the same place there is a dirt road that leads to the Taxiarhes monastery built in the 11th century and lies among a full of nut trees and also the Osios Serafeim monastery built in 12th century.
