In
Thisvi, as we are informed by Pausanias, there was an alter
of Hercules and the Thisvians organised in his favour the Heraklia
feast, that possibly has to do with musical, poetic and athletic
games.
In the 1821 fight of independence, took place the battle of Domvrena.
Being the first stop of Karaiskakis on his way to Roumeli, the battle
started at 26/10/1826 and went on until the middle of November targeting
the cut of communication of Kioutahis who was sieging Athens.
The Prodromos village is the maternal place of birth of Skalkotas,
who wrote the famous "Hostianos Dance" among others.
