Amoudara is an area with a very long sandy beach just outside Heraklion city. Amoudara is known for its tourist services that can fulfill every visitor's needs, as it has been developed with tourism in mind. In Amoudara you can find apartments, taverns, restaurants, bars, car & bike rentals, sports facilities, shops and super-markets. Due to its proximity to Heraklion, Amoudara is close to numerous historical and archeological sites.
Amoudara's beach is very well-organised with beach bars, umbrellas to rent and many water sports that you can try. And what is more, is that the beach is children-friendly and it is protected by baywatch. There is a frequent bus service from Heraklion to Amoudara and a taxi won't cost much due to the small distance. |
