A forest in the middle of the beach is impossible
to find. It is possible in Skopelos. The green trees are an ornament
for the Aegean Sea. The largest island of the North Sporades is
rich in olive tees and pine trees that compose a picture of magic
and serenity every time you look at it. Skopelos offers peace

The first city you will come across when you arrive
in the island is the capital of Skopelos with its amphitheatrical
architecture. Houses built next to each other on the top of the

The white color of the houses is combined with the red of the

some old houses built with stones. The stone built alleys lead
you to landscapes of unique beauty.

traditional long apron, knitting, the lady next door watering
her garden and the old man sitting on his stool, unfolding his
nets. You will also observe that life in the island is very slow
and peaceful. The inhabitants are not stressed or anxious about

Wondering in the center of Skopelos, you will
find many drinking fountains, built in a special style. You can
take you pictures in the arcades of the streets which are full
of blossomed bougainvillea with their impressive colors. The only
thing that you will not be able to resist are the grapes which
are hanging from the vine arbors.
If you feel like walking, wear the appropriate shoes and start
climbing the steps. The streets have many climbing steps and until
you reach your destination, you have many reasons to make stops
wherever you feel tired. The church of Panagia in Pyrgo, the chapel
of Agion Pandon and the church of Agios Athanasios are the best
rest areas. You will be rewarded by the incredible view when you
reach your destination.

Your destination is Kastro, with its wonderful view.
If you feel your stomach complaining, then make a stop to the tavern
of George Xindaris and enjoy not only the traditional delicacies
but the sweet music of his bouzouki.
The churches in Skopelos are not limited in the route to Kastro.
There are 120 churches scattered around the island. Vasiliki, Agii
Apostoli, the church of the Assumption of Virgin and many other
which are worth visiting. Each church has its own style and history.

The area, where the Ancient Aesculapion of the 4th century was discovered,
is full of history. It is an archeological site where this wonderful
exhibit was brought to light. The Folk Museum is ready to travel
you back in time and show you all the traditional needle-works,
pots and decorative parts of folk art. The architecture of Skopelos
is evident in the house of Pavlos Nirvanas, a scholar born and raised
in Skopelos.

If you like to have a coffee or even an ice cream,
then you can visit the Public coffee shop in the seaside of the
island. There, you will have the chance to observe the tanned
faces of the locals who discuss with each other, drinking coffee.
If you try to talk to them, you will realize why this island has
many things to offer to the visitors.
The daily excursions is something that you should not miss. The
village of Glossa is an ideal place with the houses built on the
top of the hill. The inhabitants are ready to welcome you with
a smile and introduce you to the local customs of the island.

with lemon and orange trees, then you should visit Neo Clima.
The aroma of the trees will relax you and take you to a dreamy
place.
Walking under the hot sun of the Aegean Sea, it will make you
want to dive in the clear blue waters. The choices are many. From
the bay of Stafylos and the long beach of Milia to Glyfada, Kanapitsa
and Amouditsa.
The tall trees in the beaches that provide shade under the hot
sun is something that you will love and unable to resist. The
peaceful waters of the bay challenge you to try them and explore
the underwater beauties. The magic is in the vastness of the blue

There are many traditional taverns in Agnota, in Glyfoneri and
in Panormo where the fresh fish is served with ouzo. Everything
is well organized to make your vacations unforgettable in an atmosphere
