HOW TO GET HERE

BY BOAT
With passenger vessels or ferryboats that have frequently scheduled services on a daily basis from Piraeus to Scala of Patmos. The trip lasts approximately 10 hours. The island also has links by boat from Pireaus having as destinations the islands of Leros, Kalymnos, Kos, Rhodes, Paros, Amorgos, Astipalaia, Kasos, Siteia, and Agios Nikolaos in Crete. The local line of the Dodecanese links the island with Arkous, Pithagorio (Samos), Agathonisis, Leipsous, Lero, Kalymnos, Kos, Nisiros, Tilos, Simi, Rhodes, Cyclades and the islands of the Eastern Aegean.

Direct connections are run from Patmos towards Leipsous and Arkous with duration of the trip being 1 hour and 15 minutes. Towards Leros, duration of the trip is 2 hours and 30 minutes. From Thessalonica there is a scheduled line through the islands of Ikaria, Samos, Chios, Lesvos with large ferryboats of the Dedeconese line and transfer to Kos and Leros. There is a direct link between the island and the island of Samos and Ikaria while it links with Rhodes through the line of Simi, Tinos, Nisiros, Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Leipsous, and Patmos.

The Flying Dolphins connect the island with Kos the duration of the trip is 2 hours, Leros in 30 minutes and Rhodes in 3 hours and also they execute a link between Rhodes, Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Patmis and Samos. There are no organized excursions available on the island, but the small boats that undertake local trips give you the chance to visit many coastal settlements and remote for most people coves and sandy beaches. You can also transfer to neighboring islands, Leros the island of Artemis, Kalymnos the island of the sponge divers, Leipsi the island of Kalypso and Kos the island of Hippocrates. These vessels depart from the port of the island and run frequent scheduled trips.
