Grand Luxe Weddings in Greece at Castle Bourtzi Nafplio

I personally designed the Greece Wedding Castle Bourtzi scenario as an immersion in the local culture using music, dance, smells, colours, and of course gastronomy.
Imagine...
In the centre of the bay of Nafplion, a jewel on the sea cradled by mountains, like an impressionist waterpainting. A medieval castle, reserved exclusively for you and your guests, one of the historic monuments of Greece made available to you for your Greece Wedding at an entirely accessible cost.

On your Greek Wedding you will be transported to another time and place by the traditional fisherman’s boats, that await you at the port, decorated for the occasion. Once on the island the torch and candle-lit halls, courtyards and terraces of the castle welcome you into their magical atmosphere for a night of fine dining and celebration.

We begin the Greek Wedding with an aperitif - cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, champagne- in the central courtyard accompanied by live music, fireworks if you like, and then proceed on to the Eastern terrace for the sumptuous dinner prepared by your chef.

Finally, we cap the evening off with further entertainment, traditional dances, rebetika... and then the castle  is transformed into your private discotheque-club with the professional Dj spinning your favorite sets into the wee hours of the night.
 
Because of its unique setting as an island booked exclusively for our client in its entirety, a marriage on Castle Bourtzi is a high moment, allowing us to design a unique experience replete with emotions rare and memorable: what will those dramatic moments be, what will happen in between? What theme will they develop? In what sequence will they be presented? These are all questions you can begin considering.

As an island facing Nafplion and Castle Palamidi, its position, historic atmosphere and timeless architecture make it a fairy tale setting which we can take full advantage of in terms of decoration as well as entertainment to match.

Indeed the decoration, music both live and DJed and symbolic forms we can propose for both ceremony and banquet-reception should underscore and subtly enhance the magical atmosphere of the castle, which we make exclusively yours in celebration of your union.

Elegant Weddings in Greece on the Liana H

One of the most beautiful and unique wooden sailboats on the Aegean today, designed from scratch from the most traditional building principles and integrating the latest technology, offering a distinctive level of elegance, comfort, safety and reliability.
Custom designed and built at Syros boatyard in Greece with passion for perfection which is evident in every last detail. Liana H comfortably accommodates 12 guests in five cabines. 5 member of crew (quartered separately from guests’ areas).
Here the Greek Wedding is organized into two distinct phases for you and your close friends and family, the first in Nafplion, the second cruising the Aegean and its islands.
The sailboat itself can be used for both reception and diner.  After the ceremony and photo session, we go to the port where your boat awaits, and you sail off gently while the crew serves you and attends to your every need. Cocktails, music and fine dining in your own secret alcove... your private cruise awaits you.

The Liana H can be booked as a reception venue for 5,500€ for the day (24h) of the reception and otherwise at the rate of 4,000 per day (rate based on embarkation from port of Piraeus).
In other words you have the option of having us pick you up by taxi or limousine from Athens Airport and drive you do Piraeus port where you will embark and sail down to Nafplio (a very pleasant cruise of about 6 hours), or conversely, come down to Nafplio directly by car, and embarking on the reception day itself and beginning your cruise either that very evening or in the morning with your party for however many days you wish.
The Greece Wedding scenarios are many. Personally I find the notion of sailing off onto the sea of the Aegean on the day of the ceremony particularly romantic, to disembark on any one of the thousands of beautiful islands of the Aegean (Spetses and Hydra are quite close by), with or without your party of family and friends, and then continuing on your own… Ceremony, reception and honeymoon can flow beautifully the one into the other.

The ceremony will have taken place earlier in the morning of the reception -if civil in Nafplion’s city hall, and if religious, in the church of your choice. We can also suggest personalizing your ceremony: if you are interested in exploring alternative ceremonial rites for your union we can propose ritual forms rooted in ancient Greek and Byzantine rite traditions, both Christian and non-Christian. If you have researched ritual forms or traditions on your own which you would like to incorporate into your ceremony, creating rituals in collaboration with our guests is one of the distinct honours and pleasures we take in our work.

Wedding in Greece by the Sea at Karathona Beach

The highlight here is Nafplion’s most attractive sand beach, Karathona. We have reserved for you and your guests a place apart in which to spend an evening of celebration and fun, as soon as you arrive. Your guests will have gotten there ahead of you, by fishing boat to the small port nearby and then on foot down the quaint dirt road, amidst the majestic pine and eucalyptus trees.

A very special atmosphere therefore awaits you as you and your spouse are brought to the opposite port by fishing boat [orthodox variant: arrival at St Konstantine church], specially adorned for the occasion, where you will mount two proud horses, for a fairy tale ride down the beachfront, led by a fine company of traditional greek musicians in folk ceremonial dress. We can even arrange for the world-renowned Peloponesian Folk Musem to provide you with traditional folk ceremonial dress.

Or you can just opt for a more informal entrance.
Once arrived at the reception, you join your friends and family in celebration at sunset, be it in the form of a more casual beachside picnic, or a more formal, or even creative themed festivity at the traditional fishing tavern’s picturesque terrace, or again at the Utopia with your full light and sound show, DJ mixing things up ‘til sunrise. You might even try swimming in the moonlit waters...

A few words about our Greek Wedding by the Sea Scenario. I propose for your reception Karathona Beach, which I consider to be an exceptional site offering many advantages.
It allows us to freely create the atmosphere of your choice including the decoration and layout of the space, the duration of the event, and especially, the music.

 We could start off the evening with a cocktail by the water-side and then continue on the covered terrace (which you can see in the photos I have enclosed) which will have been exclusively reserved for you.
We can install there either a single large table seating 25 or 3 round tables for 8-9 each, the entire buffet and DJ/music.
Our catering service offers a choice of waitered table service or buffet and our DJ can play any program you ask him ahead of time, or design one according to your tastes with you.

Weddings in Greece on the Mandalena Cruise boat

At the appointed time, the private cruise ship of your choice awaits your arrival in the port of Nafplion for your Greek Wedding Marriage Reception. Arriving by horse-drawn carriage or vintage limousine, or simply a pleasant walk down to the port, you are greeted by the Captain and the crew who welcome you with a cocktail in your honour.
The boat departs as you and your guests are lead to the upper deck, fully adorned and decorated for an unforgettable reception-cruise on the Aegean and into the setting sun.
Enveloped in the musical atmosphere of your choice, our catering team will offer you the eclectic tastes of the best in local and traditional cuisine, you can even take advantage and have your party dropped off at any one of the neighboring islands, or simply come back at sunrise to home port. (In case you’re wondering, the difference between the boats lies mainly in whether or not you want a full-flung party with dancing.
If that’s the case we recommend you choose the Madalena for reasons of space. Otherwise, the Liana H distinguishes itself mainly for a more relaxed setting in a romantic and traditional motif. Finally, the Alkionidis is roughly equivalent to the Madalena at a slightly lower price because of a lower standard)

Wedding in Greece ceremony

Whether you choose a simple civil ceremony, or a religious wedding
( orthodox, catholic, protestant, Jewish, Muslim) , we have the capability of helping you organize your Wedding ceremony regardless of where you come from, or what your spiritual tradition. We can even come in contact or otherwise place you in contact with ministers of your particular faith in Athens, or again, if you have arranged to bring one with you, coordinate their needs and requirements for the proper execution of your ceremony.

Secular Rites: The signing of the official papers must be done at the Mayor’s Office in City Hall. The ceremony itself, and your declaration of vows, can take place in any one of several beautiful locations (without the participation of any civil representative – we will have to assign someone the role of Master of Ceremonies).

In Nafplio, as in the rest of Greece, civil ceremonies take place in city hall by law. Many couples have had the distinctive experience of taking their vows in this sumptuous historic hotel de ville, a model neo-classical architecture. Some have considered this a sufficient expression of their desires as a ceremony and a setting, while others have sought something more particular, a ritualized form, expressive and ceremonial, but not necessarily bound by dogmatic or denominational constraints. In such a case, we can suggest exploring alternative ritual ceremonies for your union: we can propose ritual forms rooted in various traditions (especially ancient Greek and Byzantine, both Christian and non-Christian). One such client was Kellie Friedmutter for whom we researched, designed together and fully scripted her non-denominational ceremony at Castle Bourtzi based on ancient Greek, Gnostic and Hindu ritual elements.
We can use any part of the ceremony that appeals to you, adapt it or research and integrate other rites and traditions with the aid of my partner Vasili, who has his Master in Theologies Studies from Harvard Divinity School.

live music: It is always a special pleasure for us to arrange more artistic events as it always adds to the standing of our weddings. We have at your disposal excellent musicians and ensembles, concert-level professionals, western classical and traditional greek performers as well, at a very accessible cost. Many couples like to have dancing after the reception and we can also arrange DJ and recorded music, full sound and lighting to cover that part of the evening. Depending on what theme and atmosphere you decide on we can have any one of the above options in music, or all together. All these different aspects can be determined later on in the concepting and design part of our collaboration, I just mention them here to inspire your imagination in the meantime.

The photo/video packages include a variety of beautiful photo albums, as well as varying levels of editing of your wedding footage, from raw to artistic montage. Our wedding photographers, videographers and montage/editors are world-class professionals that work quickly and produce stunning results.

Lodging

Nafplion is a very competitive town when it comes to lodging. However, our triage of all the available possibilities puts at your disposal our exclusive relationship with the best hotels Nafplio has to offer, allowing you the choice -from the simple to the luxurious-  of the most beautiful rooms for yourselves, your family and all your guests, no matter what the size of your party.           
Lodging:  All arrangements for  your guests’ accommodations as much as your own are included in the planning service, our preferential relationship with the best hotels and pensions in Nafplio give us the advantage of being able to book the best rooms available, for you and your guests, over your entire stay. Hotels range from €75.00 to  €150.00 a day at any one of the better bed-and-breakfasts which we work with, to several hundred for the larger and more elegant suites, to a thousand and over for the luxury rooms in the four star hotels such as Nafplia Palace.

Transportation

Airport transfers, hotel transfers, wedding pick up and drop off by mini-bus, pullman or taxi/limousine. We can handle all of your transportation needs for your entire stay, be it by land or sea, we can arrange and negotiate car rental, boat rental packages for you and your guests, bike rentals and jeeps. Horse-drawn carriages, luxury, vintage and cabriolet automobiles or traditional fisherman’s kaiks for any grand entrances.
 All our offers includes your transportation from the airport of Athens to Nafplio. But we can also take care of your guests’ transportations at their request and at their own charge.

Our private cruise capabilities offer you the possibility as well of visiting the nearby islands by private cruise or even sailboat regatta: the Mandallena can take up to 250 persons, the alkionidis, 150, the Leana H, 12, and we can arrange for standard medium sized sailboats to be at your disposal, all well-appointed, professionally crewed, and totally safe in the tranquil and warm waters of the Aegean.
