The ancient Gythio, is located in the place Palaiopoli,
a little north of the nowadays Gythio, across to the island of Kranais
and south - east of Aigion. From the ancient town are still rescued
ruins of building with mosaic floor, aqueduct, temple of the emperor
August and Tivierou, bath and theater from the time of Roman period.
